About NameGenz

NameGenz is a growing collection of free name generators — fantasy and RPG characters, places for worldbuilding, real-world names, and name ideas for creators and small businesses. No account, no app, no ads blocking the tool itself — just open a generator and start clicking.

Why we built this

Naming a character, a town, or a whole kingdom can stall a whole session of writing or worldbuilding. Most name sites either give you random gibberish or bury the generator under pop-ups. We wanted the opposite: names that actually sound right, generated instantly.

How the names are made

Each generator is built from hand-curated pools of syllables and words, tuned to its genre. An elf name is assembled from soft, melodic parts; a dwarf name from hard, stony ones; a town name from believable place-name prefixes and old English suffixes. The real-name generators (Japanese, Viking, last names) draw on real names from each tradition, and the creator tools combine what you type with words used in that niche. Everything runs in your browser, so it's instant, works offline once loaded, and nothing you type is sent to us.

Who maintains it

NameGenz is an independent site, part of a small group of free web tools. It isn't affiliated with any of the companies or products it mentions. Reports sent through the contact page are read and used to fix and improve the generators. If something looks wrong, or there's a tool you'd like added, get in touch.
